Dogwood Arts Festival
Each spring with the warm weather, Knoxville explodes with Dogwood blossoms and festivals. Dating back to 1955, the scenic trails throughout our city now cover more than 85 miles. Our streets and neighborhoods are a sight to behold when the city’s signature trees flower. Besides trails and open gardens, one of the more popular featured programs is the Dogwood Arts Festival.
This year is the festival’s 58th event. Held in the heart of downtown Knoxville April 26 -28, this perennial favorite hosts close to 40,000 to 50,000 people over the three-day event.
Local and regional craft makers and musicians create the ideal spring backdrop with fine art booths, artist demonstrations, and kids’ activities. Over 100 juried artists will exhibit and sell their original work in mixed media, photography, metal, painting and sculpture. The lively street fair celebrating our region’s arts, culture and natural beauty is certainly not to be missed. It’s free and open to the public.
